ACTIVITIES @ SCHOOL

Training in life skills

Education must be considered a training to be the complete man or woman. It is the acquisition of life skills, i.e.,abilities for adaptive and positive behaviours that enables individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of every day life. The core set of skills under the large repertoire of life skills are Selfawareness, Empathy, Communication, Interpersonal Relationships, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Coping with Emotion and Coping with Stress.
C.M.I Public School is set out to give its children training in Life Skills, for they grow not by lessons taught in class rooms alone but by the training they get in life skills too.

Personality development

The goal that we keep uppermost in our mind here by undertaking various educational/cultural programmes is the grooming of the personality of each and every child under our care. In the present day world of high energy and speed, our students have to develop all of their self-esteem and talents that are dormant inside them. They have to grow full of self-confidence required to face any challenge they may meet within life so much so that they finally prove themselves to be great overcomers and achievers reaching the top! Our students are not having any preprogrammed fears or constraints that are so characteristic of students in general in their pre-adolescence. This strengthens our faith that we are in the right direction of forming of topclass winners and achievers.

IQ.Development programme

C.M.I  vision of education aims at an integral development and maturing of the various dimensions of one's personality which contribute to the general betterment of society. Since intelligence is one of the dimensions of one's personality and intelligent people are really an asset to any nation, we provide scientific training and tests so as to improve the intelligent quotient of the students. In the modem competitive world IQ is a key factor that decides the future of the children. Our attempts to improve the IQ of children go to build up their confidence level, grasping power, reasoning ability and logical thinking. Daily exposure to BBC news and periodical participation in seminars, quiz competitions etc. provide the children with ample opportunities for strengthening their IQ.

Club

Club activities in CMI Public School are intended to enable the students to achieve their goals through group activities. We have launched such different clubs as Science Club, Social Club, Maths Club and Nature Club in order to help the students bring out their innovative ideas and also delve deep into the study of the subject undertaken.

Seminars

Seminars conducted on any subject give us a deep insight and knowledge of the subject and provide us with necessary exposure to the different aspects of the subject under various fields of knowledge such as science, technology, environment, self-development etc. The knowledge thus gained develops our confidence and transforms our weaknesses into stronger characters. It is with this purpose that seminars are introduced in the school curriculum.

Atmodaya

A holistic or integral approach adopted to the development of the personality of our children makes. CMI Public School different from others. Man is to grow divine by realizing the divine. Atmodaya is a humble attempt made towards the attainment of this sublime goal. The Atmodaya classes given to the children are a happy blend of educational and spiritual values. It helps to instil a secularistic outlook in the growing generation. Atmodaya sessions for our children are conducted by way of monthly meditation, weekly spiritual get-togethers, personal prayer, counselling and talks on moral values. The spiritual energy that the children acquire from this is to help them out in building up a sensible and proactive future.

International Outlook

The world has become a global village. In this fast changing scenario, our children have to be trained to be world citizens with a world vision. It is this broad outlook that will enable our children to overcome the deep rooted barriers like difference in colour, caste, language, culture etc and envision the whole world as a single family. Children of today are to be so trained as to become tomorrow the torchbearers of brotherhood and fraternity. It is in fulfillment of this mission that we invite personalities from abroad to give extension talks and lectures throughout our educational programme.

Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW)

For children to develop fully, they must be made aware of their social responsibilities. With this end in view, we have drawn up a training programme for the children in some basic practical skills. It is aimed at giving them self-confidence mid self-esteem right from their young age. It is also meant to develop in them a sense of
commitment to the society they are members in.
