CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES |
DANCE
One of the mixed types of art, dance is a happy blend of the visual, auditory and verbal types of art. A good dancer achieves perfect co-ordination of mind and body and therefore stands out in any group thanks to his /her graceful movements and self-confidence. A good performance is an answer to man's yeam ing for perfection through integration. Since CMI Public School aims at integrated growth and development of the personality of its pupils, and because dance has much to contribute to the attainment of this goal, training in this art form finds a place in its curriculum. |
MUSIC
With music, all of heaven we have below, said Addison. If "music is well said to be the speech of angets"(Cartyle), here is CMI Public School to train its pupils in that very speech, a skill necessary to set the young minds in a state of serenity and peace, being well aware of the warning by the Baird in "The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is he not moved with the concord of sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons stratagems and spoils.'

SPORTS AND GAMES
Our students are given training in sports and games. They are given special training in games like football and basketball and athletics by qualified and well-experienced coaches. The school curriculum gives equal importance to studies and games. The students are given ample opportunities to take part in competitions conducted within and without the state. The students have brought laurels to the school by winning various prizes in inter-school competitions. | |
FIRST AID
As part of the overall development of the child envisioned by CMI Public School, we have also arranged a course for giving the students training in first-aid. This is to empower the child to cope with any emergency situation, for example, when a person in the public gathering faints or when a child hurts himself. For this we have included a first aid course as a part of the co-curricular activities. The students will be given training in this regard by 'Amala Medical College'.
OFF-CAMPUS STUDY
Learning through exposure to the real field also enables the children to gain insights into the real world of things. Besides, they also provide occasions for students to develop social qualities. We, therefore, consider off-campus study trips a valuable means of complementing the formal education for children. Along with mental development, physical education is given equal importance.Various games like basketball, cricket, volleyball, football etc are taught and extra holiday camps for the same are held.To enable the child to face the competitive world of today each and every child is encouraged to participate in various competition and stage productions. Oratory skills are honed through events like recitations, elocutions, debates and skills, S.U.P.W activities like young home-helper's club, needle work, children's little theatre etc. The aim is to provide a complete education which ensure that each student develops a positive and wholesome personality. |
